Description
The Glenturret 12 Year Old comes from a Highland distillery with roots stretching back to 1763, long regarded as one of Scotland’s oldest working distilleries — a place that still does things the slow, hand-crafted way. This 12-year-old sits at the heart of the core range and shows exactly why Glenturret has such a devoted following.
It’s matured in a thoughtful mix of American and European oak, including Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry-seasoned casks, which lend it real depth. The nose offers dried fruit, toffee and honeyed vanilla dusted with cinnamon and nutmeg. The palate is generous and layered — sherried sweetness, creamy vanilla, raisin and fruitcake, dark chocolate and warm baking spice — before a long, gently spiced finish.
Bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill-filtered and with natural colour, it keeps all its texture and aroma intact. This is a whisky for unhurried evenings: sip it neat, or add a few drops of water to coax out the sweeter, fruitier notes. Equally at home marking an occasion or as a gift for a single-malt lover ready to explore beyond the usual names.
