Description
Tanglin Gin is a genuinely different bottle — a craft gin from Singapore that swaps the usual European playbook for the flavors of its home. Distilled by one of the city’s pioneering gin makers, the Orchid expression builds on a backbone of classic juniper with ten botanicals, including coriander, orris, cassia and a few you won’t find in a London Dry: vanilla planifolia orchid, amchoor (sun-dried green mango) and warming Java pepper.
The result is smooth and intriguing. A gentle citrus nose leads into a creamy, lightly sweet palate woven with earthy herbs and spice, while the juniper stays clearly present underneath. It finishes long and silky with a subtle peppery warmth from the Java pepper that keeps you coming back.
At 42% ABV it has the structure to carry a cocktail without losing nuance. Pour it into a gin and tonic with a quality tonic and a twist of orange to let the orchid and pepper sing, build it into a Negroni for an exotic spin, or sip it neat to explore the botanicals. It’s a natural match for Asian-inspired food, too.
