Olivier Foucher took over his family’s 10.5-hectare estate in 2011 after studies in viticulture and oenology and years working alongside his parents. Le Chant du Silex — “The Song of the Flint” — takes its name from the estate’s prized silex (flinty) soils, which impart a signature smoky, gunflint minerality and exceptional aging potential. The focus here is precision and tension: energetic, bright, and impeccably balanced rather than tropical or overworked.
Silver Medal, 2025 Concours Mondial du Sauvignon. Praised by 67 Wine’s Bart Hopkins as “a classic mineral-driven Sancerre with excellent precision.”
