Appleton Estate is Jamaica’s oldest and most celebrated rum producer — founded in 1749 in the Nassau Valley of St. Elizabeth Parish, where the Black River winds through a lush, fertile valley that has been producing exceptional rum for over 275 years. The estate grows its own sugarcane, mills it on-site, and distills, ages, and bottles entirely on the property — one of the few true estate rums in the world, with complete control over every step of production. The tropical Jamaican climate is one of rum’s great natural advantages: the heat accelerates aging, the humidity draws spirit into the wood, and the result is a depth and complexity that would take decades to achieve in a cooler climate.
