In ancient Mesoamerica, only revered priests and the spiritual elite were permitted to commune with the gods — and they did so through sacred beverages crafted from agave. The deities of these rituals were known collectively as centzon-totchtin, or “400 rabbits” in Nahuatl. The number 400 was synonymous with the infinite, the uncountable, the divine. The 400 Conejos Mezcal Artesanal Joven Espadín 100% de Agave Oaxaca 750ml is produced from 100% Espadín agave using traditional artisanal methods in Oaxaca, Mexico — the heartland of mezcal. A 2021 San Francisco World Spirits Double Gold Medal winner, it delivers a beautifully balanced expression of smoke, cooked agave, and subtle fruit: crystalline in the glass, complex on the nose, and smooth on the palate.
