About the Wine
Rudi Pichler is one of the Wachau’s most respected producers, farming steep, southwest-facing terraces of meager primary rock soils that stress the vines and concentrate flavor. The Smaragd classification — the highest ripeness level in the Wachau — signals a wine of exceptional body and complexity. The Terrassen bottling draws from these dramatic hillside sites, delivering a wine that is simultaneously powerful and elegant.
Food Pairing
Pairs beautifully with river fish, Wiener Schnitzel, roasted pork, and aged hard cheeses. Also exceptional on its own as a contemplative sipping wine.
